Sunday, 24 October 2010

ImageFive Alive Bassmasters concluded its regular season today at Carnegie. Twenty members made it out for the finale. Conditions were tough with only a handful of fish brought to the scales. Tim Dafick scratched up the only limit of the day for 8.64lbs. His 5th win on the season secured the AOY title that him and Rich Mccrone III did battle for down the stretch. Gary Krieg brought a 4  fish bag to the scales weighing 6.38 lbs and anchored by a 2.43lb Lunker. Gary's second place finish moved him into 5th place overall on the year. Nick Jack made a strong effort  in his last club T weighing in 3 fish for 2.97lbs  to take 3rd place

Next Weekend the top 16 will be competing at the club classic on Lake Hopatcong

Their 8 fish for 11.51lbs was good enough for First place and $1000. Second went to Sentore/Hatton with 7 bass weighing 10.52lbs. The Mccrones werent far behind weighing in 7 Bass for 10.21lbs. Lunker on  the day went to Gary Krieg and Joe Kraft with a 3.37lb Largemouth.

Five Alive Bassmasters would like to thank everyone for coming out and TopRod Bassmasters for supplying Sandwiches to the participants

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the River November 13th

With Tim Blanking Rich is within 15 points of the AOY title with one tournament left. Pat  Childs weighed in a solid 3 fish bag for 5.59lbs to take 2nd place and secure his spot in the classic. ImageTwenty two members made the trek up to Monksville on Sunday. We were greeted by the beautiful scenery and cool mountain air. We even had a bagpipe sarinading us in the morning. Monksville lived up to her reputation for the most part and didnt put out. Although 20 of the 22 members weighed fish  only 5 limits made there way to the scale. Rich Mccrone III continued his impressive season racking up another 3rd place finish with a 5 fish limit for 7.06 lbs.Chris Ring continued his push into the top 6 with an impressive limit of 7.21 lbs. Tim Dafick let the limit escape him but not the victory weighing in 4 solid fish for a total of 8.12lbs anchored by a 3.24lb Lunker to take his 4rth win on the season.

With 2 tournaments remaining Tim Dafick has a tight hold on AOY with Rich Mccrone Chris Ring and Eric Bennett dualing it out for the other 2 boater spots in the top 6. Andy Konkas catch slid him back into the top 6 as well... Bruce Sax is sitting in the hot seat in 16th trying to hold on to his classic birth. With John Carey Mike kaminskas and Nick Jack breathing down his neck
